On Wednesday, Gov. Ron DeSantis placed limits on who can visit Florida’s nursing homes and other assisted living facilities, aiming to protect the state’s sizeable and vulnerable elderly population from coronavirus COVID-19. As a further precaution, the governor also urged elections officials to move any polling places that might be located at nursing homes or other facilities that house or care for the elderly. According to the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, the above action has resulted in at least 26 polling places being relocated to new locations for Tuesday. (See the full list HERE.) The voters impacted by these polling place changes need to be contacted and advised of their new voting day location. For convenience, here is a PDF of the AFFIDAVIT TO PICK-UP VOTE-BY-MAIL BALLOT FOR A VOTER.
A number of virtual phone banks have been set up by polling place. A virtual phone bank allows you to make calls from home or anywhere! The scripts provided have been tailored to the precincts and provide the new polling location. When talking to voters, or leaving a message, focus mainly on conveying the new polling location. You can access the Virtual Phone Bank by selecting any of the links below. All links are active daily from 10 AM through 8 PM.
